Only two days left until the official release of Samsung's new flagship and the official images of marketing, leaked this Tuesday (12/01), confirmed some things that were suspected: that the Galaxy S21 will come in a box without charger and headphones. Another absence that could be observed in the images is that the model, at least in its basic version, will not have expandable memory via microSD card, as there is no slot for this.
The decision to keep the most common accessories absent when launching a new smartphone is certainly one of the most controversial decisions made by Samsung recently. In fact, the company even satirized the Apple a post on social media, precisely because the rival had announced the sale of the models of iPhone 12 without a charger in the box. Shortly after, however, he regretted it, deleted the post and, worse, it resolved “copy” the strategy from the competitor to the Galaxy S21.
What's in the box?
Given the confirmation, via leaked images, of the absence of headphones, charger, and the possibility of memory expansion due to the lack of a microSD card slot, what accessories will Samsung provide in the box for those who buy the long-awaited flagship of the Galaxy S21 line? According to one of the images, the user will only receive the manual (Quick Start Guide), the USB C cable and the pin that helps the user to pull out the slot that houses the SIM card.

Samsung's latest justification for copying Apple and also not offering headphones and other accessories in the box with the S21 is also similar to that presented by the rival. According to the South Korean manufacturer, it has an environmental fund. The company claimed that, since most consumers already have other chargers that work for the S21, the absence of a new one avoids the “generation of unnecessary waste for the environment”. The same applies, according to the company, in relation to the absence of headphones. The microSD card slot, in turn, is a sales strategy to leverage the Galaxy S21 Ultra, only one that should offer the feature in the new flagship series.

On a more positive side than the Galaxy S21 coming without a charger, the leaker Rolan Quandt completed the series of leaked images of the Galaxy S21 confirming some configurations that were already being speculated since the release date was confirmed. Among them, the following stand out: water and dust resistance, connectivity 5G, up to 512 GB of internal memory (in the Ultra version), 64 megapixel main camera and night mode for capturing images.
