Galaxy M42 5G: Samsung's mid-range smartphone appears on Geekbench
Certificate with the UNTIL (India's regulatory body similar to our Anatel) at the end of 2020, the Galaxy M42 5G, Samsung's new mid-range device, is closer to reaching the local market. This Thursday (31/03), some information about the smartphone was leaked on Geekbench, and revealed at least a little bit of what the device will offer to consumers in Asia.
According to the leaked report, the model tested was the SM-M426B, the same one already released on Samsung official website in India, but without any specifications. On Geekbench, in turn, it revealed that it will be equipped with the Qualcomm 750G processor, at 2,21 GHz, accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The tested version scored 650 points in the single-score and 1.779 points in the multi-score.
The performance could have been even better if the tested variant had 8 GB of RAM, which is also expected to be launched by Samsung. To give you an idea, the iQOO Z3, with a slightly superior processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, but with 8 GB of RAM, scored just 38 points more in the single-score (688) and stood out in the multi-score, with 1.988 points.
What was already known
In a previous listing, leaked by 3C certification website, it was revealed that Samsung's Galaxy M42 5G will have a generous battery, 6000 mAh, which should give the user, even if he is a heavy user, up to 48 hours without having to run around looking for a socket. In the speculative field, what is said is that the intermediate will have a 64 megapixel main camera on the back.
The other specifications, according to the guys at 91Mobiles, will be very similar to those found on the recently launched Galaxy A42 5G. If they are right, we can expect the Galaxy M42 to feature a 6,6-inch AMOLED HD+ display, a selfie camera of at least 20 megapixels, and the other three lenses on the rear set with 8 megapixels for the ultrawide, 5 MP for the macro, and 5 MP for the depth effects.
The launch date in India has not been announced, but leakers believe that the mid-range device should arrive in the first half of the year, with a price starting at 23 thousand rupees (R$ 1.815, in direct conversion). According to Samsung's press office, the Galaxy M42 5G has no intention of showing up in Brazil, at least for now.
