Mobee-K headphones will come with automatic installation of Deezer

While Spotify is increasing monthly fees around the world, competing apps are plotting strategies to win over dissatisfied customers. This is the case of Deezer, which teamed up with South Korean brand Mobee-K to sell headphones with automatic platform installation. The headphones come with an in-line remote control and cost US$22,70 (approximately R$120 in direct conversion) on Amazon in the US.

The integration of Mobee-K headphones with Deezer is exclusive to the Galaxy Note S20, S21 and Z Flip models, all from Samsung. In addition to automatic installation, users who purchase the pair of headphones through the offer receive three months of free access to the Deezer Premium or Deezer Hi-Fi plans.

In this mode, the listener has access to playlists, complete lyrics, offline saving and songs in 3D audio high Fidelity – an alternative for those unhappy with excessive compression in apps like Spotify and Apple Music. The plan also includes the Songcatcher feature, which enables the phone to detect and play a song playing in the environment directly in the app. After connecting the headphones, the user also gets a personalized Deezer theme for the smartphone. The package includes wallpapers, exclusive playlists and a shortcut to the app on the lock screen and in the home screen menus.

Subscription plans with high-fidelity audio – or “lossless” as they call it in the US – have been a major focus for streaming services to diversify their revenue streams. In the US, Spotify already charges an additional fee for subscribers to access higher-quality audio – Spotify HiFi – as do Tidal, Amazon Music and Deezer itself.

In Brazil, Deezer HiFi costs R$26,90 per month and Tidal HiFi costs R$33,80 per month. The equivalent plans from Spotify and Amazon have not yet arrived in the country.
