A Facebook spokesperson told XDA Developers that the company has been receiving a lot of requests for Dark Mode, but that people can rest assured that they won't have to wait long to get their hands on the new feature. The social network has been working on it for months and expects the option to reach all users of the app in the coming weeks.

To find out if Facebook's night mode is available on your phone, simply log into the app and go to the Settings and Privacy menu. We also remind you that some apps known as WhatsApp,Messenger, Instagram and YouTube already has the night mode option.

What is night mode for?

It's no secret that people spend a lot of time in front of screens, and many of them may experience vision problems over time. Thus, night mode allows the user to change the bright white background of an app to dark, so that the user doesn't strain their eyes as much. In addition, this mode can optimize the battery life of the Smartphone.
