Clubhouse is raising $4 billion in funding

April 7th 2021

The social network of the moment is just over a year old, but it has exploded in recent months and is already valued at US$ 1 billion, which is almost R$ 5,5 billion. The sky seems to be the limit for the Clubhouse and to do so, it is raising funds from its investors to reach an amount four times its current value.

In its short lifespan, the audio chat room app has already attracted the presence of celebrities such as Kanye West, Jay-Z, Elon Musk and even the President of Russia. And it wasn't just public figures who were interested in the app. The company behind Clubhouse saw its market value grow thanks to the investors it managed to attract.

Destination for the 4 billion dollars

With this scenario, it is possible to project the app's growth. And, with that, imagine what Paul Davison and Rohan Seth, its developers, intend to do with the money.

The growth of Clubhouse has spooked the already established social networks, causing each one to rush to create its own audio chat room tool. This was the case with Twitter, Facebook and others. In addition, the app is still restricted to iOS because it is testing features and the market. The app has also experienced technical complications that have compromised its security.

The company behind Clubhouse had previously said it would work to improve security of your application and ensure that conversations would not be recorded or intercepted. There is a possibility that the company would want to invest in growing the team to be able to handle the creation in Android version, which will greatly increase its demand.

Additionally, developers may want to create something that could give the app strength to compete with the big social networks, and Clubhouse raising funds may also be linked to the fact that they intend to create a mechanism for users to pay content creators.
