The launch of the Honor V40 is coming soon and more information is starting to appear. After an image confirmed the device's waterfall screen, a certification indicates that the model should come equipped with powerful 50W fast wireless charging. The device would also support super-fast 66W wired charging.
The Honor V40 has been listed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology through TÜV Rheinland (a German company that certifies products) in the US. Thus, this certification indicates that the smartphone should not take long to reach stores.
The Honor V50's 40W wireless charging is impressive. Just for reference, the 50W wireless charging will surpass that of the OnePlus 9 Pro, which is expected to arrive in the first half of this year with 45W wireless charging (The OnePlus Pro 8 had a speed of 30W). That said, it is worth noting that Xiaomi is developing a wireless charging technology with an even more impressive speed of 80W, but it has not yet been released in a commercial product.
It's not yet possible to be sure whether 50W wireless charging will actually come to fruition, but if so, the feature should be one of the big highlights of the company's new first phone after it was sold by Huawei.
Honor V40 and its history of delays
Honor's device has already suffered some delays. Initially scheduled for December, the device was later listed on the 12th and now, the new leak suggests that it may arrive on the 18th of this month.
In addition to 50W wireless charging, a leaked image suggests that the Honor V40 should feature a waterfall screen with a generous 6,72 inches. This should also be the first time that a smartphone in the V line arrives with an OLED screen. The Honor V40 should also feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 Plus processor.
