Apple works to launch the most resistant smartwatch on the market

March 26th, 2021

O Apple The Watch is expected to get a reinforced, durable version soon. The manufacturer's intention is to capture a market share of people who practice more extreme physical exercise and who don't mind subjecting their wearables to conditions that a normal smartwatch can't handle without at least suffering scratches or scuffs.

According to one Bloomberg report, found from two sources Apple who did not want to be identified, the most resistant smartwatch would be called “Apple Watch Explorer Edition”, and would adopt as a feature a casing (body and strap) made of rubber or silicone, materials more appropriate for the practice of extreme sports.

Old idea and new ideas

Rumors leaked this Friday (26/03) indicated that the most resistant smartwatch in the Apple, if it is launched at least, should reach the market between the second half of 2021 and the first half of 2022. As this idea is not new, and has already been considered by Apple previously, it may even be that it once again remains just on paper.

In parallel to the development of a Apple More robust watch, the Cupertino company would also be working on innovations for the future Apple Watch Series 7. These include a non-invasive way to monitor the user's glucose levels (i.e. the watch won't prick your finger) and a way to improve the swim tracking system. There are also rumors that the company is working on a Apple Watch with flexible screen.

If the smartwatch Apple actually become more resistant, it should further expand the already extensive range of wearable consumers. It is worth remembering that, according to a recent report from the platform Above Avalon, by Neil Cybart, the Apple Watch is Apple's fourth most important product and already has 100 million users around the world, 30% of them registered in 2020 alone.
