A Apple has released iOS 14.7, which introduces subtle but useful new features compared to the previous update, such as the addition of support for the new MagSafe Battery Pack and a number of bug fixes in Apple Music and other apps. The update is compatible with all iPhones from the iPhone 6S onwards and, although it was released on Monday (19/07), it is only now available for download.
It is worth remembering that the beta version of iOS 14.7 was released at the end of last month and some new features — like the HomePod software update, the home assistant from Apple — are already known. The main one is the introduction of a support for the recently launched external battery MagSafe, which, as the name suggests, works as a portable charger for when the iPhone is out of charge and the user is away from home or simply as extra power for the device.
A MagSafe Battery Pack, however, it is only compatible with the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPhone 12 Mini models and is currently not yet available in Brazil, and when it arrives, it will cost a hefty R$1.199. The battery also has a capacity of 1460 mAh, which is not enough for a full charge on any of these phones.
Improvements to Home Pod and Apple Card
Another new feature in iOS 14.7 is the software update for HomePod in the Home app on your iPhone. You can now manage timers through the app, as well as name and manage individual countdowns and cancel them with a tap. Previously, timers were set only with Siri, which made them useless for people with loss of speech or lack of familiarity with the virtual assistant.
iOS 14.7 also brings a new setting for the Apple Card, where users can combine their credit limits to make a purchase. It is worth remembering, however, that this credit card is only available in the United States.
Bug fixes

Finally, the new update of Apple for iPhone fixes minor iOS performance bugs, such as lossless audio playback issues and playlist sharing on Apple Music and a bug in the Messages app that showed braille characters to the user when writing a text. In some countries, such as Italy, France and Spain, the Apple also introduced a new category in the Weather & Maps app that shows the air quality of a user's location.
