Patent of Apple shows “camera system” for “foldable devices”
A Apple had a new patent approved, which shows us a “camera system for foldable electronic devices”, increasing rumors that the company co-founded by Steve Jobs is on the verge of launching a “Foldable iPhone".
The document specifically speaks of “an electronic device that may have a flexible body formed of fabric, polymer, or other moldable material. Cameras may be installed in the body. The body may be twisted into different configurations, such as one where the body has a convex surface facing outward and an inward configuration where the body has a convex surface facing outward.”
Cameras can be [capable of] capturing images in multiple directions. By reorienting the cameras by twisting the body, the cameras can be used to capture panoramic images or three-dimensional images.”

The same document also says that the cameras will be able to be connected “wirelessly or wired,” suggesting that they will be mounted in a case and not necessarily act as an integrated part of the device itself. This would theoretically allow you to remove the case and use the smartphone as a remote control to take more creative photos.
Information would confirm rumors
The information matches recent rumors that the Apple Samsung Electronics Co. is reportedly in talks with Foxconn to choose between two flexible smartphone designs. The first would be very similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 2, where a "foldable iPhone" could expand to be roughly the size of an iPad.
The second, supposedly the favorite of Apple, would use a “flip” concept – like the one you saw on the Motorola Razr 2020. Although this doesn’t make the smartphone as big, the goal is to have the charm of a smartphone with a large screen that fits in your pocket without being too tight (or giving that “brick” look to your pants).
Supposedly, the Apple is expected to launch the “foldable iPhone” – with or without a built-in camera system – in 2022. But as usual, the Cupertino company has not commented on the rumors.
