AppGuardian allows parents to monitor their children's cell phones

A Brazilian company has developed an app that allows parents monitor, control and block access to children's cell phones. The AppGuardian, a self-proclaimed “parental control and connection app,” manages the digital device routine, and wants to bring children and adults face to face to talk more about the use of technology.

AppGuardian works like this: the guardian downloads the main version of the program on their smartphone and then the “child version” of the program on the device(s) used by the child, whether tablets or cell phones. This application issues a QR code that, once scanned by the administrator, gains maximum authority over that device.

Through AppGuardian, parents can program “usage routines” for controlled devices, determining maximum usage time, which applications are blocked or not, and even the location of the child (assuming the device is with them). The app has a “Family Time” mode, in which all registered devices are automatically blocked, and also provides statistics on which programs the user spent the most time on in the last 24 hours, seven days and even the last month.

The app's paid plans allow you to monitor what your children watch most on their cell phones, issuing content statistics on YouTube and ensuring safe search mode, blocking potentially harmful search terms. AppGuardian also acts as a website filter, allowing you to block specific addresses and monitor up to ten devices.

AppGuardian is available for both Android and iOS and can be downloaded for free from Play Store e App Store.
