WhatsApp has just released a new update that meets a long-standing demand from users: sharing videos in HD (high resolution).
The feature is now available to users of version 2.23.16.76 of the application, promising to improve the quality of video exchanges between users.
How it works?
- When editing the video you want to share, notice the new “HD” button positioned in the top corner of the screen.
- Tap the “HD” button to open a drop-down menu with quality options.
- In the menu, you will find two quality options: “Standard” with 480×864 resolution and “HD” with 720×1280 resolution.
It is worth remembering that sharing high-resolution videos results in larger-than-usual file sizes. This can mean higher data consumption for both the sender and the recipient of the video.
As for possible future updates, there is no certainty as to whether new options for video quality will be introduced in future updates. The introduction of this feature is happening gradually for all users of the app.
How to check if the new feature is available?
To determine if the new feature is available, we recommend checking the Play Store and App Store for pending updates, as well as checking the current version of the installed app.
