A Apple was the first smartphone manufacturer to launch a games library under subscription for mobile devices, the Apple Arcade, example soon followed by rival Google. The Apple Arcade was one of the company's first investments in services — something that has proven profitable — and is now reaching the 200 games available mark.

Google Play Pass has many more titles available, but there is no comparison between the services. While Play Pass mixes games with general software, the proposal of Apple Arcade is exclusively focused on games. The company even manages to close some exclusivity agreements temporary services that allow iOS, iPadOS and tvOS users to play exclusive games. The price of the services is the same: R$9,90 per month. And each service can only be used in its own ecosystem.

The 200 game mark of Apple Arcade has been hit with the addition of new games this week, such as Super Leap Day, Super Stickman Golf 3+, and Monster Hunter Stories+. Of course, many releases are meant to bolster the catalog. The company compensates for this by closing deals with big titles. Some examples are Sayonara Wild Hearts, Sonic Racing, Neo Cab, The Pathless, and most recently the remake of Angry Birds.

Apple Arcade advances, but cloud stalls

It is worth remembering, while expanding the catalog of Apple Arcade, the company continues with strict rules for companies that want to publish games via the cloud on the App Store. This is why Google, Microsoft and even Facebook have opted for web apps to make their platforms available on iPhones and iPads.

To those interested in Apple Arcade and its 200 games, the first 30 days are free. You can subscribe to it annually (R$ 100) and save two monthly fees. Those who take more services from the company can opt for Apple One and save on a bundle that includes Arcade, Music, iCloud and others.
