Diablo Immortal – mobile game from the acclaimed RPG franchise – has been postponed again. The title will only arrive on smartphones in 2022. According to Activision Blizzard, the game will need to receive adjustments in Player-versus-Player (PVP) modes. It will also receive new content, as well as support for being played with Bluetooth joysticks.

In a statement, the company said: “Following feedback provided by Closed Alpha test participants, our team is fine-tuning core and endgame features. For example, we’re iterating on PvP content like Cycle of Strife to make it more accessible, alongside endgame PvE content like Helliquary to make it more engaging. We’re also working on providing controller support for those who want to play our game in a different way.”

Diablo Immortal was among the most anticipated for 2021 smartphones. It will feature an unprecedented and exclusive adventure, set between the events of Diablo 3 and Diablo 4, which is also scheduled to arrive sometime in 2022.

Blizzard accused of harassment

Despite the claims of adjustments, it is most likely that Diablo Immortal was delayed due to the scandals of moral and sexual harassment by Activision Blizzard employees. In July of this year, the California Department of Employment and Housing filed a class action lawsuit against the company after employees staged a strike and protest in front of its headquarters in the United States.

Protesters have come out in support of a former Blizzard developer who is accusing senior staff members of sexual harassment. According to the employee, Blizzard maintained a hostile environment for women, who were paid unequally and were subjected to retaliation. The negative publicity surrounding the case led to the resignation of the company's president, Allen Brack.

Purchased by Activision in 2008, Blizzard is a historic studio, known for successful franchises such as Warcraft, Starcraft, Overwatch and Diablo.
