Just like we show here, Windows 365 will only be available to users on August 2nd, but an oversight by Microsoft itself ended up allowing the price of the new product to be discovered this Friday (16/07), practically two weeks before the official launch.
A leaked slide from the company's presentation said one option will cost $31 per user per month for a cloud-based Windows PC with two CPUs, 158GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. A PC that is operated by another computer, phone or tablet.
The staff of The Verge Microsoft Corp. was responsible for capturing the leaked image and, when confronted by Microsoft, received confirmation through a spokesperson. “This is the price for just one SKU. Microsoft will have many more options, both in terms of configurations and pricing, to share when the product becomes available on August 2,” the company explained.
The US$ 31, or R$ 158, in direct conversion, is not expected to be the cheapest price that Microsoft will charge for those who want to buy Windows 365 from August. It is known that the company is preparing a more affordable version, with a single CPU, just 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
More from Windows 365
The price was the main news leaked today, accidentally, it's true, about Windows 365, but the launch of Microsoft's new product promises much more for users.
A “Cloud PC” means you can log in to your phone and operate it like a computer, processing remotely through your internet connection. You can also choose which version of Microsoft’s operating system the Cloud PC — the name given by the company to the Windows 365 cloud computer — will run on. The options are Windows 10 or Windows 11, once it’s released.
According to Microsoft, each Cloud PC will also be able to access an impressive internet connection, with download speeds of 10 Gbps, and upload speeds of 4 Gbps. Microsoft is also exploring the option of redirecting video and other multimedia features in virtual sessions. Each version, however, will have a different price point, and the one announced today is just one of many available in the upcoming Windows 365.
