All about the best cell phones

Huawei seems to be really having problems with its P50 line, which has not been released to this day. The manufacturer has already had to delay arrival of the devices to the market by ban by the US government. Now, the Chinese brand is facing a new problem that could further delay the arrival of smartphones on the market: the lack of processors.

Even with all the Huawei precaution to secure processors for the P50 line and Mate 50, your processor stock Kirin 9000 is ending, and the Huawei P50 will be forced to use Qualcomm chips. This already it was expected, but the percentage of smartphones in the line with processors from the North American company should be much higher than expected.

Despite Huawei being the manufacturer of Kirin SoCs itself, it is being affected by the global semiconductor crisis. In addition, the US trade embargo also limits Chinese business with US companies, which makes it difficult to produce processors.

What do you mean 'forced'?

At this point, you might be wondering: How is Huawei going to use Qualcomm chips with the US ban? It turns out that every US company needs to get permission to do business with Huawei. So far, the only one that can do business with the Chinese company is Qualcomm.

But, anyone who thinks that the Huawei P50 flagships (in the featured image with its beautiful camera module) will be able to carry Qualcomm's most powerful processor (to date). The US embargo also prevents the Chinese company from using 5G technology, which rules out the Snapdragon 888. However, the minor version of the same SoC is in the crosshairs, as it will be powerful and will have a 4G modem, but it has not yet been released.

Reorganizing logistics

With this new predicament that Huawei will have to face, some changes in the production and distribution logistics of the Huawei P50 line will need to be made. The company's current stock of Kirin 9000 processors should be used in the basic model of the Huawei P50. The Huawei P50 Pro models should indeed come with a Snapdragon 888 processor with 4G. As we mentioned, this processor has not even been released yet, and this fact, added to this reorganization in the logistics of the smartphone models, could further delay the launch of the line.
