Some users of the Galaxy S20 are suffering from an unusual problem: the screen of the devices is turning off. Out of nowhere: there is no identified reason or context (so far) for this to happen. smartphones, launched in the first half of 2020, are unusable after the failure.
User reports were made on Samsung Support Forum. Users explain that they were using the device normally until the Galaxy S20's screen started to fail, turning off and in some cases turning green or white.
Some phones still manage to work partially with the screen changing color, while others have completely unreadable content. Another highlight is that the owners explained that they did not drop the product or anything like that, which indicates a possible hardware or software defect.
The situation gets even worse considering that reports also say that performing a reset on the Galaxy S20 does not solve the problem and the screen continues to go blank. The only way to solve the error seems to be to actually replace the display.
“At first I notice lines flashing on my device, especially when playing games. I asked Samsung support and they instructed me to do a soft reset on my phone. then the screen turned green and white and it overheated when left open for a while,” wrote one smartphone user. See below for a video showing the possible issue.
Samsung has yet to officially comment on the Galaxy S20's screen-failure issue. The reports also do not include any consumers who took a device to support during the warranty period. Apparently, users of the Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra models were also affected. It is worth remembering that, so far, this is being calculated through complaints on the company's forum. So it is not yet possible to have an idea of the proportion of customers who are being affected by the problem.
