All about the best cell phones

Last Tuesday (06/07), the central bank updated your official blog with an article about banking apps and accessibility features. The regulatory institution commented that it has developed guidelines aimed at the experience of users with disabilities and has drawn up a list of banks that have the appropriate adaptive tools in their apps and websites.

The descriptive table can be found on the website Pix, instant money transfer feature, and is quite detailed (you can access it here). It is divided into the following segments: hearing impairment, visual impairment, and physical impairment or reduced mobility. It then lists each of the banks registered with the Central Bank and which accessibility features they have in their apps for each of the segments.

Democratic access

To understand the needs of people with disabilities regarding the user experience in banking applications and to develop its accessibility guidelines, the Central Bank relied on collaboration. The institutions Fundação Seli, Laramara and Para Todos Verem contributed to the process, which also included the participation of the Municipal Secretariat for People with Disabilities of São Paulo.

The tools outlined in these guidelines include indications for the use of images and other resources that can be accessed by screen readers, the use of assistants in sign language, guidance on visual and tactile resources, voice command options, among others. The Central Bank's objective with this table is to promote democratic access for people with disabilities to financial tools.

Another accessibility promotion initiative took place recently, this time organized by Anatel. The regulatory agency carried out the Anatel Telecommunications Accessibility Award 2021, which awarded operators that presented the best accessibility solutions in their virtual and physical environments, as well as the promotion of actions aimed at people with disabilities.
