The internet took advantage of the patent image leak of Vivo's built-in micro-drone phone to create rendered images of the device. The concepts help us get a closer idea of what the project will look like when launched.
The information that Chinese Vivo Global studies the creation of a cell phone with micro-drone was raised last week. The patent document, available online (in Chinese), portrays images worthy of James Bond films, with a flat-screen cell phone, with no space for selfie lenses with large borders. The lack of a front camera, standard on the market, would be justified by a drone with built-in cameras, stored on the top of the device, which should serve as a photography assistant for the user.

Unlike other devices, whose option would be aesthetic, reducing the lenses would make room for a secret compartment to store a drone. The images also show that the attached device should have four propellers, one in each corner. The patent indicates that there are two cameras, one front and one side that can be switched during flight (just like commercial drones), and space to attach two other lenses. The mechanism has three infrared proximity sensors that should help control the device to avoid accidents.

With this information, designer Sarah Sheth imagined what the phone would look like through rendered images. The impression is that Vivo's project prioritizes the micro-drone's resources to create new photography features, using the small gadget as an assistant for capturing images of users. Will this radical project be viable in the near future? Will it catch on? The Chinese manufacturer is currently working on the launch of a folding device, in addition to the devices Vivo sxnumx, in addition to a new tablet which could reach the market in 2021.
