Some Oppo phones are receiving an update to be able to count on virtual RAM memory, following the example of Redmi Note 10. This is a particularly useful feature for entry-level and mid-range smartphones, as games and apps become heavier with each update.

It is possible to artificially expand the virtual RAM memory by up to 7 GB on selected Oppo smartphones. The function basically borrows part of the internal storage to freeze information in the background so that the original RAM can obtain it again in a quick time. This impacts, for example, multitasking, with fewer apps reloading after being minimized in the system.

The update is being distributed to the family's cell phones Oppo Reno 5, and the Oppo A94 and A74, in select regions. It is likely that the Chinese company will release the update to more users, as the stability of the new firmware is confirmed by those who are receiving it now.

Anyone who has one of these Oppo models and wants to use the virtual RAM function should note that the internal storage is compromised by this function. It is optional and can be activated in the device settings. Even if the consumer wants to virtually expand 7 GB, the disk space reserve may be greater than this.
