Google Maps has been providing information about Covid-19 vaccination sites in all Brazilian capitals since April. Now Google has expanded its function to find vaccination centers near the user to another 36 cities in the country. The new feature provides the location of more than 1800 vaccination centers and health units. According to Google's release, Maps is working to bring this feature to more cities soon.

To see vaccination centers in your area, users can type phrases like “covid vaccine”, “covid vaccine near me” or “where to get vaccinated against covid in [city]” into Google Maps or a Google search. The search will then show the address and contact details for the center, as well as details such as access for specific groups, whether the center offers drive-thru vaccination or whether appointments are required. This information is provided to Google Maps by local health authorities, and the searches also provide links to official websites for these agencies.

In the app, you can check the peak hours of the location you are searching for, forecasts about the occupancy of establishments, and notices about means of transport that have limited circulation and mandatory use of masks.
“We will continue to do our part in the daily fight against the pandemic and we will always be committed to making it easier for you to access the most reliable and up-to-date information on our platforms,” wrote Wilson Rodrigues, Google's partnership manager for Latin America.
