All about the best cell phones

Twitter users are pointing out a bug in the Google app that returns blank searches for Android phones. According to the Android Police, the bug is affecting Samsung and OnePlus devices, as well as Google's own Pixel devices. We tested it on some smartphones from other brands, but the error did not occur. Check out some of the complaints made on Twitter below.

“This bug in the @Google app that randomly doesn’t load any results, even with a perfectly good connection, and just shows a blank page, is so annoying. Does anyone else run into this all the time?”

As users have pointed out, the blank search bug in the Google app is happening even with good Wi-Fi connections. To fix the issue, the user can either search again, or go to Settings, Apps & notifications, tap on the Google app and then Force stop. Another option is to search through the Chrome search bar on your phone.

Other Google app issues

This bug comes on the heels of other Google navigation issues, such as when Google Discover started deliver old news, and when a company update to Android made several apps simply stop working. Both problems started in March of this year.

The blank search bug has been around for at least a few weeks, so it's safe to assume that Google is already working on a fix. Still, it's strange that a company as big as Google would let this issue slip through the cracks in its core business, search. Phone Arena pointed, search accounted for $104 billion of the Silicon Valley giant's revenue last year. That's 71% of Google's gross ad revenue and 57% of the total 2020 revenue of Alphabet, the company's parent company.
