Niantic, the developer behind Pokémon Go, has publicly apologized to the gaming community after users complained about the reduction in stardust (the game's bonus) in PVP battles. That is, in player-versus-player matches.

Stardust points were recently reduced by 50% in Go Battle League matches without any justification, leaving many players unhappy with the change. Some players even contacted Pokémon Go developers on social media to express their frustration with the lack of stardust in the game.

In response, Niantic spoke out this Wednesday (9/6) in an official post on the GO Battle League Season 8 page that said:

“Trainers, we’ve increased Stardust rewards for the Go Battle League to match the amount awarded at the end of Season 7. The initial reduction was an oversight, and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.”

To make up for the lost Stardust in the first week of the season, we are increasing the rewards to double the amount from Season 7. We would like to thank the GO Battle League community for noticing this error and reporting it quickly.”

According to Pokémon Go developers, the amount of Stardust received at the end of Season 8 will be calculated based on the highest rating achieved throughout the season. An interesting strategy to increase this bonus is to save your Star Pieces to be used at the end of the season, which will add 50% more to the bonus provided by the game.
