A Apple announced this week iOS 15, which features several very useful new features, but there will always be nostalgic audiences who like to remember bygone days, or rather, old versions of their mobile operating system. This is what motivated a developer to simply recreate iOS 4 in the OldOS app, which almost perfectly emulates the look of the classic system. Apple.
The change is aesthetic, so anyone interested in trying out this app won't need to install a new operating system on their smartphone. OldOS, despite simulating iOS, is just an app (exclusive to iPhones). As per the App Store rules are very rigid and here we have a product that clearly copies intellectual property from Apple (although old), the installation process is a little more complex.
Today is Launch Day 🚀
Introducing OldOS — iOS 4 beautifully rebuilt in SwiftUI.
* 🎨 Designed to be as close to pixel-perfect as possible.
*📱 Fully functional, perhaps even usable as a second OS.

The OldOS app is available through Apple Testflight, the beta software release platform of Apple. In this link you can get access to it, but there's nothing stopping the company from wiping this tribute out of existence very soon. With that in mind, the developer also released the source code of the application, which can be recompiled by anyone with XCode at hand.
Inside the OldOS app
Compatible with iOS 14.1 or higher, the OldOS app aims to achieve perfection in this experience of emulating iOS 4. The large screen of current iPhones is reduced, since the display simulates even the body of the classic iPhone, that is, it is more of a curiosity or joke than something that can actually be used in a practical way. One of the details is the Touch ID button, which responds with haptic feedback.
Even the photo gallery and notepad are functional, but there are problems with YouTube and iMessage, on the other hand. The developer says that the project is not finished and that it will be refined over time, if it is not filed down before. It is worth remembering, Apple does not force its users to migrate to new versions, and will continue to iOS 14 updates for those who want to stay.
