The iPad is often praised for having great image and video editing software. However, not every app company takes the time to release specific versions of their products for the tablet. Yes, iPhone apps also run on iPadOS, but until now it was not possible to use them in landscape mode (or orientation).
This changes with iPadOS 15, which also features new features like widgets on the home page, among others. In the new version of the system, iPhone apps are automatically adjusted to horizontal when the device detects use in landscape mode. Although they are not designed specifically for the tablet, Apple, apps will be much more usable this way. It is worth remembering that, for now, only developers can test the beta of the new iPadOS.

Preserved proportion and black bars on the sides
With the new feature, apps simply remain in the format they are presented vertically, but with black bars on the sides, meaning they do not have the interface “stretched” to take better advantage of the iPad screen. It is as if non-HD television content were played on a Smart TV. With the bars (called “pillar boxes”) the proportion of the app is preserved, and it can be used as it was designed.
Of course, you can still use iPhone apps in portrait mode on iPadOS, just switch from landscape mode. Next month, those with a compatible iPad will be able to take advantage of the first public beta of the update. Starting in September, Apple should release the public and official version of the new version of iPadOS, alongside the new iPhone 13. It is worth remembering that during WWDC 21 the company also announced or iOS 15, with the new Focus mode, new features for iCloud, faster Siri (running locally), and other features.
