Oppo is preparing a new smartwatch to hit the market and fight for a place in the hearts of those who like to wear a watch for physical exercise. Oppo Watch Free had the registration with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) leaked by the people of LetsGoDigital, who has already started to explore what to expect from the smartwatch.
Based on the information it had access to, the Dutch website reported that the brand's second smartwatch will have a sports aspect, with a design and specifications prepared especially for athletics and other physical activities. Although no specific image or configuration was provided, the publication bet that the operating system will be Google's WearOS, along with innovations in hardware and software.
The Oppo Watch
The brand's existing smartwatch on the market, called Oppo Watch, comes in two different sizes, 41 or 46 mm, with 1,6 and 1,91-inch screens, respectively, both AMOLED and rectangular in shape. The future Watch Free should follow this trend, as the brand is betting on different sizes to appeal to both male and female audiences.
The current version of Oppo's smartwatch has two different battery sizes, 300 mAh for the 41 mm model and 430 mAh for the 46 mm model, which gives it slightly better battery life. According to the manufacturer, the smaller model lasts 24 hours without needing to be recharged, while the larger one can last up to 36 hours, that is, a day and a half away from the socket.
The Oppo Watch also has some monitoring functions that will certainly be part of the new model, such as heart rate measurement, sleep quality monitoring and even some specific workouts, in addition to, of course, the integrated GPS. There is still no set date for the launch of the Oppo Watch Free, but the brand's future smartwatch will possibly have a global launch, since the patent was registered in Europe.
