Starting today (24/05), users with a business profile on Instagram will have access to a professional dashboard with insights on the performance of Reels and live videos. Introduced in 2018, the Insights tool analyzes the performance of the user's publications, so that they understand what most pleases their followers and other people who visit their account.
According to Instagram, users will now be able to analyze in Insights how many views, likes, comments and shares their Reels have received, as well as how many accounts they reach. This should help creators evaluate the content model that generates the most engagement. In the case of live videos, the page will map the number of comments and shares, the number of profiles reached and the peak of simultaneous views on broadcasts.
“The motivation [for Insights for Reels and Instagram Live] came from the rapid adoption of these formats by our community,” the company explains, through official publication. “We now want to make sure that we can understand how content performs across both.”

Additional changes
Instagram has also updated its Insights section, which can be accessed from the drop-down menu on the right-hand side of your account, with more detailed information. It now segments the profiles reached by your posts into followers and non-followers. It also classifies content based on reach and type of post—emails, posts, IGTV videos, stories, or live videos.

In the coming months, Instagram is also expected to roll out more time range options for analyzing metrics in Insights, in addition to finally offering a section support in desktop version. “We understand that Insights is an essential resource for creators and businesses looking to grow their audience and engage followers,” the company says.
