Owners of Apple Watch users can now enjoy all of Spotify's features even when they are offline. The platform announced a new feature that is now available as of this Friday (21/05). According to the official statement, “all users can already stream tracks, albums, playlists and podcasts, and now Premium users will also be able to download everything they’re listening to for a truly offline, phone-free experience.”
This means that the platform's customers who currently pay between R$19,90 (single bill) and R$34,90 (family plan) per month, and who have Apple Watch Series 3 or later running WatchOS 6.0 or later will have the ability to download playlists, albums, and podcasts on Apple Watch to play offline.
Features include streaming audio at 96kbps, adding and deleting Spotify content on your phones, and syncing everything to your smartwatch. Apple. “Being able to download music and podcasts complements the existing feature of being able to stream your favorites from your watch, and now you don’t even need to carry your phone with you,” Spotify announced.
What about Android?
The new feature that will allow you to fully use Spotify's features offline has been announced for now only for users of Apple Watch, but smartwatches that run on Google's WearOS platform, were not forgotten by the company. Last Tuesday (18/05), the company's executives confirmed that functionality for smartwatches outside the WatchOS ecosystem will also be included.
The release will give WearOS users the ability to listen to and download playlists and podcasts Spotify offline mode, however, is not ready yet and is still under development. Watches that use Google's platform, now merged with Tizen, from Samsung, will also have offline access to YouTube Music content.
