All about the best cell phones

Social networks, in the vast majority of cases, are free. Or at least do not charge directly for their services. But there was a reason for this: these networks lived off selling targeted ads from what its users posted, liked or said about themselves. With the new policy of Apple, which Android may also adopt, the business may be about to become a thing of the past, and now it is literally a matter of playing catch-up. Twitter, after giving the same little cry that Facebook had already given, you can opt for another revenue model: charging for a Premium version.

The person who brings this information is, , once again, Jane Manchun Wong, an analyst who, through research into social network code, usually anticipates with accuracy the new tools. According to her, the microblog is preparing a benefits package for those willing to pay monthly fees.

One of the benefits would be the ability to separate posts by tags and collections, which would make it easier to revisit the content later. This tool already exists on Tweetdeck and is completely free (so far: Tweetdeck belongs to Twitter). The second advantage would be the ability to undo tweets after sending them, within specific time periods. For this purpose, users can now simply delete posts they no longer consider appropriate, but this does not prevent people who have already received them on their timeline from reading them anyway.

Twitter Blue and social media add-ons

Twitter Premium — which could be called Twitter Blue — would start at $3, and Wong suggests the platform could price it at different rates to offer even more features to those who can afford to pay more. If confirmed, the move would join other recent announcements involving direct money flow on the network: superfollow and tip box for content creators.

While many may find this model strange for a social network, it's worth remembering that YouTube, Reddit, Discord, and others also offer free, but enhanced, experiences for subscribers. YouTube Red removes ads and allows downloads; Reddit Premium releases new forum tools; and Discord Nitro boosts servers, allowing, for example, the creation of exclusive emojis.
