All about the best cell phones

Amazon announced on Wednesday (12/05) that its service for international purchases in installments and with free shipping is now available for its store in Brazil. The new service includes the offer of cell phones, smartwatches and accessories. According to Amazon, the international store will have products in categories such as home and kitchen, music, electronics, beauty, computers and fashion. The offers include products sold by Amazon itself and products provided by third parties (via Amazon Marketplace).

International devices

In a brief survey done by Vida Celular, it was possible to find offers on devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G sold by UK retailers to smartphones like the Xiaomi Note 10 Redmire, sold directly from the factory Xiaomi, in China.

In addition, it is also possible to find devices from brands that are not officially in Brazil, such as Chinese Oppo. The model Find X2 Pro 5G na Lamborghini special version can be imported for the mere R$36 reais, taxes included. Accessories such as the headphones from Xiaomi AirDots 3 can be purchased for R$299. In addition to the price, which as we have seen can be a problem, depending on the product, speed is one of the strengths of Amazon's new international store. According to Jeff Bezos' company, some partnerships have been made to make products available for immediate delivery through its store in Brazil, and the delivery time for these products can vary from four to fifteen days.

Taxes are already included

The option to make international purchases through Amazon is not exactly new. The purchase of books and some imported objects is already was available, including electronics such as headphones, but without a dedicated store. The new service also allows purchases to be paid in installments and offers the option of free shipping. This exemption, however, is exclusive to subscribers of the Amazon Prime service, which charges R$9,90 per month (or R$89,00 per year) for access to the catalog of films, music and delivery service.

International shopping is a direct response to the advance of Chinese e-commerce giants in the country, such as AliExpress, which also offers installment payments, but without the option of including taxes for consumers. According to Tiago Abel, Amazon's Retail Operations Leader in Brazil, the company's focus is to make borders imperceptible to customers, providing a positive international shopping experience with a wide selection of products, faster delivery and easier payment methods.

“With this method, we are able to make thousands of international products available with a reduction of more than 40% in delivery times when compared to other international shipping methods that we previously had on Amazon.com.br”, explains the executive.
