All about the best cell phones

It's been a while since Huawei has been able to use updated versions of Android on its smartphones. In order to no longer depend on Google, the Chinese company launched HarmonyOS, your own operating system. Or was it? A video shows that the new OS of the brand's devices is very similar to EMUI, the custom android interface made by Huawei. And from the video, the new system not only looks almost the same aesthetically, but the old one seems to have better performance.

HarmonyOS appears to have exactly the same features as EMUI. The Android version opens apps faster, of course. However, it is important to note that the video compares an OS that is still under development with a finished one. In addition, the smartphones are different models, which may affect performance.

The person responsible for the recording explains that native apps on Huawei phones open faster on HarmonyOS. The company is still developing compatibility with many of the apps shown in the video. Considering the similarity, HarmonyOS may not be a completely new system, but rather a customized version of Android, just like EMUI. Huawei has not yet given many details about how this will work.

Recently, a test published by user Digital Chat Station, famous for his leaks aimed at the Chinese mobile market, revealed that HarmonyOS consumes less battery than EMUI. On both devices, the user tried to open some applications and ran two popular games in China: King of Glory and Game for Peace. The power consumption performance was better on the model with the new OS.

For now, HarmonyOS has not yet been officially launched for the company's smartphones, but it is already being tested and is expected to happen later this year. The system was already used in televisions and smartwatches since 2019. Huawei intends for all of its future devices to launch with the new operating system, as well as having plans to apply it to 300 million smartphones around the world.
