It seems that the Clubhouse craze has died down, the app has seen a big drop in downloads since February. In the second month of the year, social network has been downloaded by more than 9 million users on App Store. In April, things were quite different, with around 900 new members joining the platform. The data comes from Sensor Tower. Although the number of downloads is decreasing, the regular user base is still high and the numbers show that most people who download Clubhouse continue to use the social network.
In February, the app, which requires an invitation to download, had 9,6 million downloads. In January, this number was 2,4 million. And in March, 2,7 million. The result, therefore, is a 66% drop between March and April, after a 70% drop between February and March – 91% accumulated.
Hope in Android?
Just over a year after its launch, Clubhouse may have hope of regaining its good download numbers with the app available for Android. As of today, only iOS users can download the service, which limits the user base. The social network announced the news in a post on its official blog. For now, the beta test version is closed to a small group of users, but the developers have said that they are gradually expanding that number. It is not yet known when a final version will reach Android users, but it is possible that it will happen in the coming months.
Android users can get a taste of what the (for now) iOS-only app is like through features created by other social networks that are trying to get a piece of the market. Twitter was one of the first, and now Facebook is finalizing its audio chat tool and the Social media coordinator must also have its version. Users of Telegram You can also try the audio chat option.
