For a long time, the Instagram was a social network without many native tools to monetize content. However, in recent years, the Facebook has started adding some new models to the platform and now, the company's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has spoken about some of these projects.

In an Instagram Live chat with the social network's CEO, Adam Mosseri, the Facebook creator said he is working on more authentic ways to help creators making money. “Our vision is that if we help creators make more money from their content, it will help a broader creator economy emerge,” he explained.

New tools to monetize on Instagram

Instagram has had a way for influencers and stores to advertise products in posts for some time now. However, Zuckerberg said he plans to create a store within the social network, without the user having to go to an external website. This, in fact, had already been suggested previously.

In the chat, Mosseri talked about Instagram creating tools to monetize growing accounts. “I think historically, Instagram has done a better job of creating value for creators who are already established and we haven’t done as well with people who are just trying to get started,” he said. “I think that’s a big miss on our part. We’re really trying to pivot toward that,” he added.

The comments come shortly after Twitter, Facebook's main competitor to the platform, announced the feature superfollow, a tool to monetize the social network and generate payments for the profiles of influencers and content creators.
