Spotify is working on some new tools to improve its usability. The company has already announced that it is preparing a mechanism that will allow podcasters charge for content and also plans to create its Clubhouse version. However, these new features are for the near future. What Spotify launched today is a partnership with the Facebook app.

Both companies were working on a project called Boombox which would bring new features by integrating the two applications. The first tool resulting from this partnership is a mini player to listen to Spotify music or podcasts on the Facebook app itself.

To activate this feature, users need to connect their accounts to the respective apps. Then, when they start playing their music or podcast, simply tap the three dots and choose to share to the Facebook News Feed. Once this is done, a post will be made with a player on Zuckerberg's network. Anyone who taps the player will see another mini-player appear at the bottom of the screen. This way, they can scroll through the feed and access other Facebook tabs while they follow what they are listening to. They can pause, resume, and close the mini-player.

Spotify has announced that the tool is available for iOS and Android and works for both Premium and Free users, but non-subscribers will hear ads as usual. It was also announced that 27 countries have the tool available, namely: Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, South Africa, Thailand, Uruguay and the United States. Other regions should receive the update soon.
