Twitter has been working on some updates to its social network lately, and some changes indicate a new focus of the company. Developers are looking to turn the social network into a space for content creation and monetization. And the latest update, called Twitter Business, is part of this new direction.
The news was announced yesterday by Twitter's official profile through a thread. It involves a change to professional profiles, which include stores, NGOs, content creators and any other type of account that uses Twitter for work. In addition to the verification badge, these professional profiles will gain a tab with additional information about the service provided.

In the new tab, users will find a thumbnail with a map, professional website information, address and more details. It also features two new buttons, one for getting directions to the location and another for contact.
In this first example of a Twitter Business profile, it was clear that it was aimed at stores or companies that have an office and offer products. However, it is likely that the new feature will offer other information and formats for content creators and other types of profiles that use the social network for work. In fact, it is likely that content creators will gain a subscription button, since Twitter has been investing in an update that will allow pay for content differentiated.
At the moment, the update is only being rolled out in a few regions of the United States. However, according to a tweet from Twitter's official profile, Twitter Business will be available to more people in the coming months. It may take a while before we see this feature working, especially here in Brazil.
