Microsoft will release the beta version of the service this Tuesday (20/04) Xbox Cloud Gaming, xCloud Gaming, for iPhone, iPad and iMac owners. According to the company, the service will be available on a browser-based system, as the Apple does not allow apps that sell games on the App Store.

The solution created for Xbox users allows you to play Xbox Game Pass games on devices such as tablets, smartphones and computers. You just need to be connected to a data connection of at least 10 Mbps, have a wireless controller and a premium subscription to the service.

According to Microsoft, the service will be available to iOS users through an application that will run on top of the Safari browser. The company, however, did not detail whether there will be any shortcut available in the App Store or whether users will have to access the domain manually.

User base expansion

Last year, Microsoft's Xbox chief and vice president of gaming Phil Spencer revealed that the company has plans to expand into the mobile universe, since the smartphone base in the world is much larger than any console.

According to the executive, even if you add up all the sales of a video game generation (about eight years) you don't get the number of devices sold in a major launch like the Samsung Galaxy or Apple iPhone. Hence the interest in applications like xCloud Gaming.

Beyond devices Apple, in Brazil, xCloud Gaming has been available for Android devices since November 2020.
