The Swiss manufacturer has unveiled a new futuristic VR technology accessory. CREAL is developing a prototype of virtual reality headset with light field display mode. A recently released video shows the focusing capability and high resolution of the equipment's screen.

CREAL says in its official website that the virtual reality headset offers continuous depth of resolution and allows for dynamic focus. The video below reveals that the light field technology allows the device to switch focus from one object to another at any distance, much like the human eye does, check it out:

The prototype's yellow and extremely large design (compared to existing models) doesn't seem to be in its favor. However, the company says it is confident that it will be able to compact it for better fit and comfort on the user's face (image below). Also on the website, the company compares its current specifications (from 2021) with the expectations for the equipment in the next one (from 2022).

In comparison, the table suggests that the prototype currently in use has a screen with a resolution rate of 240 Hz and a subframe rate of 5.8 kHz, and that in 2022 it will go to 270 Hz and 6.5 kHz, respectively. In this way, its GPU load may also be improved, going from 8K (currently) to Full HD (next year). This type of technology can benefit manufacturers, with more compact and innovative light field displays than those already launched on the market. In addition, another virtual reality headset that should hit the market next year is the Apple.
