Fans of strategy card games You know that selling and trading cards is a reality for both those who want to update their deck and make it stronger, and those who are leaving the game aside. But uploading information one by one is a task that takes time. eBay, a famous space for players to do these transactions, is preparing an update to its app that will recognize Magic cards and make this process easier.
By the end of the month, the eBay app will use image recognition technology to help players trade cards. Instead of taking a photo of each item in a deck and manually typing in the information, users using the eBay app will only need their phone's camera.
The app will have a category of card games to choose from. After selecting which game your item belongs to, simply point your phone's camera at the card that the app will recognize and fill in the sales fields with the product's data. Eventually, the user will be able to make small corrections here and there. The company expects to reduce the average time spent registering cards for sale or exchange by 50%.
And eBay isn't going to limit itself to Magic: The Gathering cards. It plans to expand its business and include other card games in its automatic recognition. For example, the company expects to add Pokémon TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh! in May. Other games may be added later.
