All about the best cell phones

Recognized for its television screens, TCL is preparing A new smartphone that will take advantage of all this fame. A news story that emerged at the beginning of the year showed that the company was working on flexible screens for cell phones. However, TCL went much deeper into the subject and is now working on a device that will have a screen that folds and rolls up simultaneously.

The company has been working on this type of product for a long time. A year ago, its first prototypes appeared. One of them was a tablet that folded in two, adopting the movement of “closing inwards” as if it were an accordion. The device took the form of both a thin cell phone and a wide tablet. The company’s second test was a smartphone with extendable screen whose screen unrolled to the side.

TCL's Foldable and Rollable Cell Phone Concept Drawings

TCL's rollable and foldable phone concept (leaked by CNET)

Now, TCL is bringing together the technologies it has been working on into a single device. At least that's what the project drawings show, which the portal CNET had access. In them, it is possible to see TCL's concept of a cell phone in which one side of the screen folds while the other rolls up, transforming a smartphone into a tablet, but with the advantage of not being as bulky as its first experiment.

It is not yet known whether these drawings indicate a product that will actually take physical form and hit the shelves. After all, TCL's latest inventions of folding or rolling screens have not been consolidated as products, but have merely served as a showcase of its ability to create screens.
