All about the best cell phones

And OnePlus finally released its first smartphone aimed at gamers, the OnePlus 9R, which is unfortunately exclusive to the Indian market, at least for now. The announcement took place alongside from the OnePlus 9 line today (23/03), and finally all the cell phone specifications are confirmed.

Snapdragon 870 is one of the highlights of the OnePlus 9R

As Pete Lau, CEO of the manufacturer, had already advanced, this flagship arrives with interesting hardware for the price range, offering performance through the Snapdragon 870 5G, which premiered the other day with the Poco F3 from rival Xiaomi. In addition to the processor, another difference that stands out when comparing the 9R with the 9 line is the absence of Hasselblad camera technology.

Camera sensors are more modest than those in the 9 series

To make the product less expensive, Sony IMX586 and IMX481 sensors were used. The first powers the 48 MP main camera, while the other captures ultra-wide images at a maximum angle of 123º. There are also sensors for macro and portrait mode. The front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels. It is worth noting that the product has optical stabilization in the main lens. Video recording reaches 4K 60 fps, and slow motion reaches up to 480 fps in HD resolution.

Its screen is a 6,55-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD resolution, HDR10+ support, and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The screen is covered by Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Getting to the point, the OnePlus 9R is launched with options of 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. Another positive point is that the disk technology is UFS 3.1, which guarantees faster transfer rates, which translates into less waiting when opening and loading games.

65W charging and sound with Dolby Atmos technology

The battery is another important aspect of a gaming phone, and here we have a 4500 mAh tank that can be recharged at up to 65W with a Warp Charge 65 charger that comes with the device in the box. The company promises that with this, the smartphone will be fully recharged in 39 minutes, and the user will have power for a whole day of simple use with just 15 minutes of charging. Connectivity aspects include Dual SIM support, USB-C port, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. The device comes out of the box with Android 11.

Other gaming features include haptic vibration feedback and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology. Overall, the OnePlus 9R brings a number of interesting additional features, but in more economical products they would be cut to make production cheaper.

Colors and prices

Available in Carbon Black and Lake Blue, the bad news about the smartphone that made such a good impression with its specifications at its launch is that it will only be sold in India, as we mentioned at the beginning of the post. Prices start at 39.999 Indian rupees (or R$ 3.031 in direct conversion today, 23/03) and go up to 43.999 Indian rupees (R$ 3.334).
