No big surprise, the Realme C21 just been released on the scheduled date. With modest configurations, the device is theoretically the successor of C20, launched very recently. In practice, it is a slightly improved smartphone, which could easily have been launched as a turbocharged variant of the other model.
Realme C21: basic and cheap
The phone offers 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256 GB via microSD card. Its screen is 6,5 inches with HD resolution. Therefore, the C21 offers 1 GB more RAM than the C20, but has the same Helio G35 processor and 5000 mAh battery. A good difference between it and the Realme C20 is in the cameras: instead of a single rear module, the Realme C21 has three. The main one maintains 13 MP, and the new ones arrive with 2 MP each, for macro photography and improving the depth effect in portraits. For selfies, the sensor is 5 megapixels.
Another new feature is the addition of a biometric sensor on the back. In this way, the Realme C21 is launched as a way to increase features for those who want to pay less for something similar to the C20, but feel that the experience with it will be quite limited. The price, of course, is slightly higher than that of its less powerful sibling: in direct conversion today (05/03) R$697, against R$585.
For now official in Malaysia and only in black and blue colors, it is likely that the device will receive variants with more RAM and storage, according to the AliExpress may have already anticipated. After Xiaomi and Huawei, Realme also decided to bring its cell phones to Brazil, so the newest launch — Realme C21 — could make an appearance here in the future.
