An update coming soon to WhatsApp will allow photos posted in chats to self-destruct. people Anyone who is chatting on the app and wants to send photos that disappear as soon as they leave the chat will have a specific tool for this function in a button, next to the text field.
Nowadays, the photos we receive in conversations often end up being automatically added to a folder on our phones, something that only changes if the user who receives the photos disables this function on WhatsApp. Not everyone understands how the settings work in cases like this, which ends up using up a lot of storage on their devices.
This situation may be about to be alleviated, according to information brought by the website BetaInfo, specialized in the application. His Twitter profile brought some images showing the tests that are being done with the possible update.
WhatsApp is working on self-destructing photos in a future update for iOS and Android.
• Self-destructing photos cannot be exported from WhatsApp.
• WhatsApp didn't implement a screenshot detection for self-destructing photos yet.Same concept from Instagram Direct. ⏱ pic.twitter.com/LLsezVL2Hj

The change will also mean that photos received that self-destruct on WhatsApp will no longer be able to be exported directly to the phone or shared to other apps. However, there is still no information about any tool for detecting screenshots of these photos. A concept along these lines of self-destructing images is already offered by other apps and tools, such as Snapchat and Instagram Direct. However, users of these apps are notified when the other person takes a screenshot.
Security and privacy issues can be mitigated with this new feature. In personal photo sharing scenarios, the risk of strangers receiving images of someone they don't know in a sensitive situation can be reduced.
Anyway, the update of self-destructing photos on WhatsApp, apparently, will be for the Android and iOS. However, there is nothing official yet regarding when and other details.
