Recent information has suggested that the iPhone 13 might not have any type of port, with charging being done exclusively via MagSafe. Now, a patent filed by Apple last Tuesday (02/03) shows that the device may indeed have an input, but to receive the magnetic charger.

The charger shown in the registration made with the United States Patent and Trademark Office indicates a model similar to that used in MacBooks until a few years ago. Basically three pins that are magnetically attached to the device. The difference is that the input is usually much shallower than a more conventional connection. It is something that can only be held in place with a magnet.

There is no clear mention of the iPhone in the patent, but it is safe to assume, from the format, that the port magsafe of the image is located on the bottom of the smartphone Apple. If this is indeed implemented, the company will have taken another step towards the portless iPhone.

In October, the American website CNET indicated that the iPhone 13 could come without any inputs, abandoning the Lightning connection. More recently, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo ruled out the possibility of the giant adopting the USB-C input in the next generations and said that the path for the models was the Magsafe connection.

The same analyst even gave the information that the iPhone manufacturer should bring the Magsafe port back to MacBooks this year. In other words, it seems that the Apple is betting heavily on magnetic connections.
