The Metropolitan Urban Transport Company (EMTU) of São Paulo announced that as of this Thursday (18), public transport users aged 65 or over will be able to request the BOM Senior Card, exclusive for elderly, via WhatsApp. The card, which can also be requested through the company's website, arrives free of charge at the address within six days of the order, and is valid in the 39 cities of the metropolitan region of São Paulo, on CPTM and Metro services.

To request the Senior BOM, the user must add the number (11) 3888-2200 to their cell phone contacts and send a message via WhatsApp with the word “o”. Once this is done, the user provides their CPF and informs that they would like to purchase the card, and must have proof of residence and an ID or driver’s license on hand. The service is provided entirely via chat and can be done at any time of the day. To request the card via the website, just go to the page and click on the chat channel in the lower right corner.
In both cases, users must wait for the card to be delivered, which can be monitored by entering the CPF. on the delivery service page. The request is completely free and is valid for both the first and second copies of the Senior BOM.
In addition to the Cartão BOM Sênior, exclusively for senior citizens, EMTU is extending its services via WhatsApp to passengers holding BOM Comum, Vale-Transporte and Escolar cards. The measure aims to reduce the exposure of risk groups to the coronavirus.
