About a year after the last Nintendo Direct, the home of Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong returned to bring announcements about its titles in a live broadcast lasting about 50 minutes. Focused on Nintendo Switch, the company showed new characters and stages for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, in addition to announcing the new franchise still called Project Triangle Strategy and Splatoon 3, among others.
What were the highlights of the presentation?
To kick off the presentation, Nintendo introduced a new character and arena for its Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighting game. Both are from the open-world RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 2, also exclusive to Nintendo's hybrid. Next up was the announcement of Fall Guys, which joins the Switch a year after its resounding success on the Playstation 4 and PC.
Continuing with games from partner companies, Capcom showed a new trailer for Monster Hunter Rise. In the trailer, we see gameplay footage mixed with clips from the story. Monster Hunter Rise arrives on Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021.
Surprisingly, a new game of Star Wars has been announced exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Star Wars Hunters will be set between episodes 6 and 7 of the franchise, but little else has been revealed.
As the title suggests, it is possible that the game will focus on bounty hunters, who became more popular after the series. Disney+'s The Mandalorian. Star Wars Hunters will arrive on the console later this year.

Continuing the celebrations of Super Mario Bros.' 35th anniversary, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will receive clothing and decoration items based on the games. In addition, a new edition of Mario Golf was also announced for June 25th of this year.
Project Triangle Strategy by Square Enix
Square Enix was also present at the return of Nintendo Direct, bringing a new franchise with the provisional name of Project Triangle Strategy. Apparently inspired by the classic Final Fantasy Tactics, the game will be a strategic turn-based RPG with a strong focus on positioning your characters to get the best advantage in battles.
Furthermore, the game's plot can be divided into several lines, depending on the decisions you make and your determination (or lack thereof!) in choosing a path. Project Triangle Strategy will only be released in 2022, but a demo has been released on the console's eShop for free.
One of the fans' greatest hopes was to see more about the sequel to the award-winning The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, announced at E3 2019, but since then there has been no new information. Eiji Aonuma, producer of the series, came out publicly to apologize for the lack of information about the game. In addition, he stated that more about the title will be revealed throughout the year.
However, he didn't leave fans empty-handed, using Nintendo Direct to announce the HD remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, originally released for the Nintendo Wii in 2011. The game was the predecessor to Breath of the Wild and took full advantage of the Wiimote's motion controls.
The producer assured that the Switch's Joy Con can be used in this way, even with more precision. On the other hand, it will be possible to enjoy the game without motion controls. At the time of the original game, it was heavily criticized for forcing players to move.
Additionally, the company will release a special edition of its Joy-Con with the game's theme. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD arrives on the console on July 16th of this year.
Splatoon 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2022
Closing the Nintendo Direct, we had the announcement of Splatoon 3, the fun multiplayer game where the goal is not to kill all the enemies, but to mark most of the map with your team's ink. Not much information was revealed, other than the possibility of customizing your character and the little animal that accompanies it.
