Additionally, an action panel has been added to the app, very similar to the one found in Office on the iPhone. Through it, you can transfer files from iPad for the computer, transform a photo into text in Word or into a table in Excel, as well as convert PDFs to text and vice versa. The app also allows you to sign PDFs and create images from them. But it doesn't stop there, with other functions involving QR Codes and forms.

Another tool found in the app is its file browser. Not only does it facilitate access to local files, its compatibility with iCloud and OneDrive certainly helps a lot in accessing documents, presentations or spreadsheets remotely. The app has also made it easier to continue working on the same file, thanks to the recent files panel.

The app can now be downloaded for free from the App Store, although an Office 365 subscription is required to utilize it to its full potential. Despite the launch of this new app, the specific Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications still remain in the App Store. But it is very likely that Microsoft's goal is to replace them with this “all-in-one” app, that is, unique.
