A new level of waterfall display concept is being introduced by Xiaomi. In the innovative smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer, the four sides of the screen completely wrap around the sides of the device.
Exactly. There are no bezels on the sides of Xiaomi's waterfall display, nor are there any physical buttons or ports on any of the four sides of the model. The design features an 88° curved screen and is coherently called by the official company blog of unibody. According to the images, there are more robust frames in each of the four corners, which possibly have the function of physical stability for the innovative design.

Xiaomi says the biggest challenge in producing its industry-first square-shaped waterfall display wasn’t actually bending the screen. The biggest innovation was manufacturing an 88° square-shaped glass panel and the 3D bonding process that made the idea a reality. Compared to regular curved glass, the difficulty of hot bending increases exponentially.

Physical ports and buttons can have their functions replicated by alternatives more appropriate for the model. A poster from the company also reinforces that this is a concept of a port-free cascading smartphone, in addition to information about 46 patents registered during the development of the innovative screen of the company.
