All about the best cell phones

Among the news of  Galaxy S21 line announced at yesterday's Unpacked (14/01) is the compatibility of S21 Ultra with S Pen. The pen was previously exclusive to the Note and Tab models. Along with this news, a new and more advanced pen, called S Pen Pro, was also revealed.

Remembering that, unlike the models of (deceased?) Note line, the S21 Ultra does not come with the stylus pen, which needs to be purchased separately (and it doesn't come with headphones or a charger)). The smartphone also does not have a special compartment to store the accessory, but the company must launch special cases for this function.

As you might expect from its name, the Pro version of the S Pen has more optimized features than the standard version, and it should also cost a little more. At the launch of the Galaxy S21, the “normal” S Pen was available to be purchased separately for around R$200 in direct conversion. The price of the new model has not yet been announced.

Improved model

Among the main new features known so far is that the S Pen Pro is slightly larger than its older sister and has support for Bluetooth low energy. This is very important because unlike the Pro, the standard S Pen currently available for the Galaxy S21 Ultra does not have a Bluetooth connection. which limits some features compared to the Galaxy Note (like the gestures in the air, for example). And the image makes it obvious that it is physically much larger.

S Pen Pro will be released this year for the S21 Ultra

It's also important to note that the S Pen Pro won't just be available for the S21 Ultra. This is one of the big surprises of the announcement. Samsung revealed that it intends to expand the "ecosystem" of its technological pen, so that products from other companies will also be compatible with its features. But it's not yet clear how this will work.

So far, the S Pen Pro is expected to launch in 2021, but there is no specific date yet. The price both in Brazil and globally is still unknown.
