As expected, the Galaxy S21, Samsung's next flagship, is expected to launch in some markets with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chip. The device had appeared on Geekbench with Qualcomm's top of the line, even before it was launched, and once again, it showed up there.

Rumors about the Galaxy S21 have been circulating on the internet for several months and many specialized websites reported that the device would be launched with the Snapdragon 875. However, this reality changed this week after Qualcomm confirmed that this processor will, in fact, be the Snapdragon 888.

The confirmation of the new model also raised doubts as to whether the partnership between Samsung and Qualcomm would continue, as the South Korean manufacturer did not appear at the list of companies that will use the Snapdragon 888.

Despite rumors that the company would launch its flagship worldwide only with the its own chip, the Exynos 2100, this should not happen, at least not for now. Thus, everything indicates that Samsung will continue with its policy of launching Galaxy phones with Snapdragon in the United States and Asia and Exynos in the remaining markets.

The Geekbench listing also reinforces other suspicions about the Galaxy S21, stating that its Snapdragon 888 will be clocked at 1,8GHz, in addition to 8GB of RAM. The operating system will be Android 11. The device achieved 1075 points in the single-core processing tests and 2916 points in the multi-core tests.

Other specifications were also released

Also according to the information, the Galaxy S21 will have a screen in its base version 6,2-inch AMOLED Infinity-O with a display with a 120Hz refresh rate, with Full HD+ resolution and a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen.

Despite the variation between Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888, in some markets, the storage capacity of the models will be the same: 8 GB of RAM, but some sites even speculate 12 GB. The storage should be 256 GB, with a slot for microSD cards. In addition, it should have Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, and a battery with fast and reverse charging.

Another attraction of the new Galaxy S21 should be its camera, as is always the case with the Galaxy S line. In addition to the hardware, according to Qualcomm, the technology of the new Snapdragon 888 will ensure better photos to the devices, and certainly the new top-of-the-line Exynos should not be left behind.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 is expected to be officially announced in January and launched sometime in the first quarter of 2021.
