Everything is ready for Qualcomm's Snapdragon Technology Summit 2020 event, which takes place today and marks the launch of the new processor in the Snapdragon line. One of the devices that we already know will feature the new processor is Realme's future flagship. With the news about the platform that will be launched at the Tech Summit 2020 digital event, Realme Ace 3 will receive the Snapdragon 888, and not the non-existent Snapdragon 875. Likewise, most Android flagships will most likely also feature Qualcomm's new chip.

More and better performance, image quality and lower battery consumption are some of the expectations with the new platform, in addition to great advances in artificial intelligence due to the greater density of transistors.

Reasons for changing the name

The name change to Snapdragon 888 can be explained by the way the Chinese maintain some traditions and even superstitions. In this case, the numbers 6 and 8 are seen as being linked to positive things.

While 6 represents longevity, expansiveness and celestial power, 8 represents spiritual evolution, strength and is the most beloved of numbers among the Chinese, who say that the more number 8s you have in your life, the richer and more prosperous it will be.
