Prepared to be the successor of From Fold 2, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 should hit the market with a camera under the screen. Thus, it would be the first cell phone from Samsung with this technology. The new information released by the South Korean website The Elec ruled out that the innovation will appear on the Galaxy S21, pointing the novelty towards the Z Fold 3.

The company's idea is to release the smartphone with the new technology, currently only found in devices from ZTE, in the third quarter of 2021. To this end, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is being developed by Samsung's System LSI division.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 would not have any holes in the screen, and the technology would allow the camera and display to function fully without one interfering with the other, according to information leaked to specialized media.

Algorithm to improve the image of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 camera

Samsung is also reportedly working on a new image correction algorithm to make the Galaxy Z Fold 3's under-screen camera even more appealing to the brand's demanding consumers.

According to a source heard by XDA Developers, “the screen is being designed in such a way that only the part where the camera is placed is enlarged to ensure an ideal aperture and take photos without any problems”.

Physical keyboard could be another new feature on the Z Fold 3

The possibility of arriving with a camera under the screen was not the only one leaked information about the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Recently, information has also appeared on foreign websites stating that the successor to the Z Fold 2 will hit the market with a physical keyboard.

A document published in July 2020 by Kipo (South Korea's Intellectual Property Office) confirms that Samsung filed a display patent two years ago with eight product sketches. According to Dutch website LetsGoDigital, the project in question would be a foldable smartphone, with a surprisingly thin thickness when closed.

The difference from the Z Fold 2 would be that this device would have two folds, transforming almost into a tablet when fully opened. The double folding system would also allow one of the screens to stand up, like a small notebook.
